Single-use plastics are one of the most pressing environmental issues facing the world, but plastics continue to be sold to millions of consumers every year. It ends up in landfills, beaches and oceans, causing huge plastic pollution problems. BioCyclr was created by a circular economy manufacturing company and led by Barent Roth to change all of this.

In order to combat plastic pollution, all single-use plastics are taken away before reaching the landfill and the ocean and turned into new things. How did it happen? Via off-grid solar micro-factories in portable containers. These micro-factories do not produce waste, pollutants and toxins.

BioCyclr is the first product made of single-use plastic, processed in one of these micro-factories. They created a frozen food waste collection box. It is made entirely of solar energy and recycled plastic.

The micro-factories only process recycled plastics. It absolutely does not generate waste and discharge. It is also very portable, small in size, and can be placed anywhere for on-site production. And, most importantly, the micro factory is made of transparent walls so that anyone can see what is happening inside.

This is a very simple process, and it is completely cyclic. The solar panel on the top collects energy and sends it to a battery on an external wall. The energy is stored there and transported to the facility, where the shredder turns the used plastic products into plastic flakes. From here, they enter the washing machine and rinse the flakes. The rotomolding machine rotates the clean sheet and coats the product mold with liquid plastic.

The circular economy manufacturing industry also hopes to create green jobs by establishing micro-factories across the country.
