GE Appliances has recalled 155,000 free-standing, French door refrigerators because the handle may come off the bottom freezer drawer “posing a fall hazard to the consumer.”

Product recalls are nothing new — in fact, they happen fairly routinely.

But over the last several days, some well-known cars, foods and household items have been part of recalls.

The recall list includes refrigerators, air fryers, ground beef and even ice cream.

Here’s a roundup of some of the bigger recalls recently.

General Electric (GE) Appliances is recalling six models of refrigerators sold nationwide at retailers such as Best Buy, Home Depot and Lowe’s because the door handles had been detaching, posing a fall risk to anyone trying to pull open the freezer doors.

About 155,000 stainless steel refrigerators with bottom freezers are on the recall list with models selling between $1,900 and $2,500 from Feb. 2020 to Jan. 2022.

The affected models are GFE26JYMKFFS, GFE26JYMNFFS, GNE27EYMKFFS, GNE27EYMNFFS, GNE27JYMKFFS and GNE27JYMNFFS.

The serial numbers for the recalled models begin with the following two letters: DR, FR, GR, HR, LR, MR, RR, SR, TR, VR, ZR, AS, DS, FS, GS, HS, LS or MS.

Ford Motor Company has recalled more than 650,000 vehicles due to a defect that can cause the windshield wipers to break and limit drivers’ visibility.

Ford told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that the broken wiper arms could stop working and may lead to an accident.

The recall includes the following models: Ford 2020-21 Expedition, 2020-21 F-150, 2020-22 F-250 SD, 2020-22 F350 SD, 2020-22 F-450 SD, 2020-22 F-550 SD and 2020-21 Lincoln Navigator.

Vehicle owners can have the faulty front windshield wiper arm replaced by a dealer for free.

Best Buy is recalling several models of air fryers due to fire and burn risks, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

There were 104 reports from consumers in the U.S. and Canada about the air fryers catching fire, melting or burning. All of the affected air fryers are listed on Insignia’s website. Models include Insignia Digital Air Fryers, Insignia Digital Air Fryer Ovens and Insignia Analog Air Fryers.

The following model numbers are included: NS-AF32DBK9, NS-AF32MBK9, NS-AF50MBK9, NS-AF53DSS0, NS-AF53MSS0, NS-AF55DBK9, NS-AFO6DBK1 and NS-AFO6DSS1.

The recalled products, which range from $30-$150, were sold between November 2018 and February 2022 at Best Buy stores, on Best Buy’s website, eBay and Google.

Turkey Hill Dairy is voluntarily issuing a recall on certain containers of its Chocolate Marshmallow Premium Ice Cream because they might contain undeclared peanuts.

Only 385 containers manufactured between April 14 and April 19 have been affected, but people with peanut allergies could be at-risk if they come into contact with these products, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

All of the affected products have a UPC code of 020735420935 and a sell-by date of March 2, 2023, found on the bottom of the package.

No reports of illness have been linked to the recalled product to date.

A South Jersey company is recalling more than 120,000 pounds of ground beef due to E. Coli concerns, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

The products subject to recall have the establishment number “EST. 46841″ inside the USDA’s mark of inspection. The full list of product codes can be found here, and labels provided by the FSIS can be found here.

The recalled products were shipped to retail stores nationwide.

There have been no confirmed reports of illness or adverse reactions, but customers are being urged to either throw them away or return them.

Pfizer recalled five lots of the heart and blood pressure drug Accupril after tests found high levels of an impurity that can cause cancer.

The Accupril (Quinapril HCl) tablets had an increased level of nitrosamine above the acceptable daily intake level, according to the FDA.

The FDA says these high levels can increase the risk of cancer over time.
