We’ve seen trailer-like range extenders before, but this one here transforms the Thundertruck into a 6x6 behemoth!

Wolfgang’s IP division has come up with something very creative. Called the Thundertruck, this all-terrain EV comes with a range extender that turns the 4x4 truck into a 6x6 beast

In the standard form, the Thundertruck is a regular 4x4 vehicle. It comes with a 180 kWh battery pack that gives you a range of 400 miles on a full charge

However, the company offers it with a Range Extender. This extender features a 120 kWh battery pack that makes it a 300 kWh battery setup combined. It also adds 160 miles of range, bringing the total range to 560 miles

Now, coming to the main part. This range extender isn’t a trailer that you will hitch to your Thundertruck. It will come as a complete conversion kit that will add a fully functional third axle, a six-wheel-drive system, and a bump in the power figures

It will churn out 940 HP and 1,200 lb/ft of torque – 140 HP and 400 lb/ft more than the 4x4 model. The towing capacity also increases from 7,500 lbs to 11,000 lbs. The height and width remain the same, but the length increases by 39 inches

The range extender and the whole 6x6 setup, by the way, adds 1,440 lbs to the existing weight. In the 4x4 form, the Thundertruck weighs 6,120 lbs, and in the 6x6 avatar, it weighs 7,560 lbs

It also features things like extendable loading ramps, auto drop-down side step, integrated camping tent, roof-mounted bat-wing, pull-out storage unit with slide-out kitchen and fridge, HD roof rack system, and so on

For now, the company has only revealed the 3D renders. It looks like quite an ambitious project, but we’d love to see it being built and sold. Swipe up to know more about the Thundertruck
