We have put together a list of the best glamping spots in the UK.

The UK is a beautiful country with plenty of outdoor activities to keep you busy. If you’re looking for an adventure or just a relaxing getaway, glamping is the perfect option. There are tons of luxury camping spots all over the UK, so no matter where you are, you’re sure to find one that fits your needs.

These deluxe vacations are a step up from your typical camping experience, and they provide both indoor comfort and access to natural beauty in equal measure. These luxury pads are the farthest thing imaginable from roughing it. They range from bougie bell tents situated around lovely natural bathing ponds to eccentric tipis equipped with their own wood-fired hot tubs.

Staying at one of these wonderful glamping locations will allow you to forget about struggling with tent poles, leave your musty sleeping bag at home, and take your stress levels down a notch in comparison to traditional camping.

Glamping, sometimes known as glamorous camping, is a kind of camping that features accommodations and services that are more luxurious than those often associated with camping.

Glamping and camping are more popular than ever in the UK – with four in every 10 people having enjoyed a trip prior to Covid. More than 17 million camping and caravanning trips were enjoyed pre-lockdown, with a whopping 15 million being spent in Britain.

Glamping is the antithesis of primitive camping; when done in the winter, it implies having a warm and inviting place to sleep, regardless of whether or not it is snowing outside. If you want to avoid enormous numbers of dedicated warm-weather campers, going glamping in the winter is the best time to do it.

As summer fast approaches, thoughts turn to holidays and weekends away in the English countryside, and where better to enjoy the Great British outdoors than at The Nest, a luxury glamping retreat in the heart of Lincolnshire.

Inspired by camping in Kenya, these three unique lodges combine comfort, style, and sophistication, with the charm and serene feeling of being at one with nature, without compromising creature comforts.  ‘Pinkfoot’,  ‘Cuckoo’, and ‘Teal’ Lodges each sleep up to 6 guests, and are positioned far enough apart to provide total privacy for sole use as a family or group of friends, but close enough for the exclusive use of all three.

Each lodge offers a king-size master room with lake views and direct access to the outdoors, as well as a twin room and a separate king-size cabin bunk. A large bathroom with an egg-shaped bathtub offers the perfect place to soak in, whilst White Company linen and amenities combined with quality pillows, duvets, and blankets provide the perfect setup for a good night’s sleep and real home from home feel.

The focal point of each lodge is the vast living room/kitchen, which comes fully equipped with all the mod-cons, crockery, and cutlery you’d expect. A large wood-burning stove not only keeps the lodge warm in any weather but is a combined cooker and stove, allowing you to cook up a feast any time of day.

A large dining table for 6 and deep-set sofas provide the perfect place to catch up with friends, enjoy cozy family nights, or simply kick back, relax and take in the breathtaking views of the lake and fields beyond. The entire front of the lodge opens up to reveal a large deck, providing the perfect setting for a morning coffee, alfresco breakfast, a sundowner, or outdoor supper setting.

Guests can pre-order from a menu of tasty homemade hampers, perfect for any meal of the day. From a BBQ pack, complete with outdoor reared Lincolnshire sausages, prime beef burgers, free-range chicken drumsticks, and soft white buns, to an Italian Deli with a selection of charcuterie and cheeses and a Seafood Supper consisting of oysters, smoked salmon, and prawns. As well as an assortment of breakfast classics, including outdoor reared bacon and sausages, free-range eggs, locally baked bread, milk, and juices.

However, for those nights you simply don’t want to cook, head off to the local pubs, which won’t disappoint.

Whilst staying at The Nest, guests are encouraged to enjoy all the facilities on-site, including detailed walking maps, wild swimming in the lake, in-lodge spa treatments (including facials and massages), toasting marshmallows, wood-fired hot tub hire, fishing, a film and firepit night, boating, bird watching, board games and much more!

Camp Quaives is another great glamping spot. This quaint refuge on a quiet estate in Kent aspires to be more of an “outdoor boutique hotel” than a traditional campground, and we believe they have succeeded in achieving this goal. Because these luxurious bell tents are wired to the mains, you won’t have to worry about your phone’s battery dying if you go on an Instagram spamming spree inside. And forget about attempting to get a grill going since the Patio, which features an outdoor kitchen and bar, has you covered when it comes to satisfying your visitors’ appetites.

At the isolated meadows on the eastern end of the 19-acre Quaives estate, there is a collection of twenty sturdy canvas bell tents that have been set up in a roomy manner. Each one is decorated in a way that is understated yet chic, so that guests may enjoy a stay that is uncluttered, serene, and comfortable.

There is easy access to a toilet and shower block that is filled with zero-waste Earth Suds items, and all of the tents have power so that you can charge your phone and any other essentials you may have brought with you.

A glamping site that stands out from the crowd. A retreat that claims to be driven by both passion and a higher calling. The Lost Garden Retreat is a genuine labor of love, consisting of four wonderful tents made lovingly and painstakingly by hand in an ancient wooded area that is humming with pleasant memories. It is a tranquil setting in which to reacquaint oneself with both nature and one another.

These canvas tents are so well-appointed that we’re not even sure they can be classified as camping accommodations. Each of the four tents features a king-sized four-poster bed, a fire pit, a BBQ, a bathroom with heated flooring, and a fully equipped kitchen. Subtly inspired by themes of nature, creativity, craft, and family. Each one is cozily kitted out with all the necessities as well as a few of life’s little luxuries.

During the day, you may take advantage of activities such as lengthy walks, health workshops, and spa treatments. Discover the beauty of the natural world from the comfort of a pet-friedly luxurious tipi that has been tastefully decorated and is complemented with a gazebo that features a hot tub and room for barbecuing.

This pre-pitched tipi may be seen on the banks of the Oxford Canal, in the heart of a family farm that is still in operation. You won’t have to do any strenuous labor though. There’s a handful of glamping choices in Campwell Woods, and you could book them all up if you had 14 like-minded mates ready to spend a few nights in a forest in the Cotswolds. Our preference is Yurtup, a two-person yurt with a substantial double bed, located in the forest. Wander through the trees to locate the wood-fired sauna, or book on to lessons, from yoga to foraging and a campfire cuisine how-to.

Choose between two camp locations. Campwell woods – a handcrafted eco-village of structures nestled in a wild wooded valley near bath, or Campwell farm – a village of tents on a 5th generation working sheep farm.

Gravel Pit Farm is the epitome of the glamping experience and feels like a planet apart from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Each safari tent is a large and spacious 66 square meters in total area (over 700 sq ft). A wonderful night’s sleep is guaranteed when you are tucked into one of the room’s proper, comfy king-size or huge single beds, complete with fluffy duvets and linens that are immaculately white.

A vast wilderness. Elmley’s stunning terrain, soul-stirring sky, and breath-taking fauna create a genuinely inspiring vacation.

On an island in North Kent, 40 miles from London, is a spot called Elmley, which is a remarkable site consisting of 3,300 acres of beautiful nature and breathtaking beauty. It is a family farm, and forty years ago, Philip and Corinne Merricks were pioneering farmers who worked tirelessly to make Elmley such an important site for wildlife by restoring nature to the entirety of the estate. As a result of their efforts, Elmley is now recognized as one of the most important sites in the country for wildlife.

We love the Woodland bell tents which are set within a secluded treeline and have electricity. All of the tents make the most of the space and wild setting of Elmley and are positioned well-apart so every guest has privacy along with plenty of space making this a great spot for glamping.

Relax, unwind, and spend the night in comfort so you can wake up to the great outdoors. Tents are available for families, groups of friends and couples, or individuals looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway on their own.

Another great glamping spot is Brambelwood Yurt. You will find that you are absolutely alone in the middle of the forest and surrounded by natural elements. You won’t be able to hear anything but the sound of the wind and the echoing knocking of woodpeckers wherever you choose to rest, whether it’s outside in the wood-fired bath, gathered around the log burner, sitting in the rocking rockers, or on the sheepskin-covered sofa. The kitchen is a delight to cook in and features a larder that is completely equipped.

When the weather is nice, you may have a grilled meal on the expansive terrace that looks out over the woodland. If you wander through the clearing, you will find a Victorian ornamental pond and stone steps that wind through a valley of rocks and unusual trees.

These stone steps lead to lovely overgrown and tumbledown gardens where you can forage for blackberries, wild strawberries, sloes, and even some very rare Bath asparagus.

The luxurious belle tents on this location are put up in what was previously the moat for Haveringland Hall. You’ll discover enormous Lotus Belle tents with mattresses, fresh linen, wood burners, and camping stoves; adorable cottages with little kitchens; even a ‘stargazing castle’ replete with a kitchen, fire pit, and king-sized bed with amazing 360-degree views.

And the dreamiest part? They’re all placed around an exquisite natural swimming pond for that cool morning plunge.

Our personal favorite is the Furnished Stargazer. In the luxurious stargazer, you will most definitely get some rest under the night sky. The bed is really comfy, it is next to the swimming pond, there are beautiful views of the sunset, and if you lie in bed long enough, you could even see some shooting stars. The Moat Island will exceed all your glamping expectations.

We aren’t going to dispute Campwell’s statement that “connecting with nature and living more harmoniously with it, we rediscover a part of ourselves,” because they are absolutely correct. You have your choice between two locations: Campwell Woods or Campwell Farm. The latter is a heavenly location that is located south of Bath and features an ideal combination of luxurious and rustic elements making this a great glamping experience.

Comfy mattresses, clean bedding, and a wood burner are provided in each of the spacious bell tents at this campground for guests’ use. The restrooms are of the composting sort, but in addition to them, there are hot showers, a kitchen that is well-equipped, and, wait for it, an indoor swimming pool. Isn’t that fancy?

In addition to hammocks both inside and outside the truffle, there are also shaded outdoor cooking areas equipped with innovative Aquaforno cooking systems. These systems include a barbecue, a pizza oven, and a gas burner, allowing you to quickly brew a cup of coffee in the morning to get you going.

Staying in one of the private glamping accommodations, which include a range of geodomes, wood cabins, and canvas tents, is the best way to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with nature. Each one was carefully positioned by hand to provide the finest possible views of the fields and woodlands, making this the ideal glamping spot for moments of romance as well as quality time with family and friends.

Our personal favorite is the geodomes. The opulent geodomes, each measuring 7 meters in diameter, can be seen perched atop the most beautiful area of the Estate. With its own kitchen, dining area, and toilet, as well as a double bed. The best part is that it has a stargazer ceiling from which to admire the clear night skies.

Built on a private deck that comes equipped with a dining table, a grill, and a hot tub. The ideal location for spending lazy days viewing the local animals and spending evenings taking in some of the most breathtaking sunsets.

Adorned with fairy lights and outdoor chairs, the BYOB (bring your own bedding) tents are just a short walk from the common pantry, which is filled up with complimentary tea and coffee.

A small collection of intimate spaces perfect for a glamping weekend for two, set within the Kitchen Gardens in Trefor. Steaming hot showers, roaring fires, and most importantly breathtaking views.

Another great glamping site is Muiredge. This moorland location gives the impression of wild camping, yet there is none of the discomfort associated with that experience here. There are a total of 6 accommodations to select from, including six bell tents, a shepherd’s house, and a converted train car.

Double beds, patios with fire pits, and private shower and toilet pods are provided in each of the tents. Both the carriage and the hut include private bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, fireplaces, and wood burners. Muiredge is an off-grid retreat that uses solar power, water from a spring-fed fire, compost loos, and local larch cladding.

Guests have the opportunity to plant trees and wildflower seeds throughout their stay. It is located around one hour’s drive north of both Edinburgh and Glasgow, close to the outskirts of the town of Auchterarder.

If you’re looking for a unique and luxurious glamping experience then head out to one of the above-mentioned spots. The UK is home to some of the best glamping spots in the world. From glamourize tents to yurts, there’s something for everyone when it comes to glamping. So what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and head to one of these amazing locations for an unforgettable glamping experience.
