December 10th-A Boulder man accused of burglary and absconding on parole after being convicted in 2018 has pleaded guilty in his case and was sentenced to jail.

61-year-old James Craig Dobson pleaded guilty to misdemeanors of theft and trespass in Boulder District Court on Friday.

According to the plea agreement, the lawyer agreed that Dobson will be sentenced to 82 days in jail for theft and one year in jail. Dobson received the time for the intrusion counting service.

Boulder District Judge Bruce Langer accepted Dobson's plea agreement remotely from Boulder County Jail and sentenced him to the specified prison term. Except for the guilty plea, Dobson did not make any other statements.

According to an arrest testimony, the police contacted Dobson on September 20 to investigate the theft of frozen food from his outdoor freezer at Dark Horse at No. 2922, Base Line.

In addition to allegations related to burglary, the police also retrieved Dobson's records and found an arrest warrant that violated the parole warrant. Officials also noticed that Dobson appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and said he admitted to drinking. Dobson is not allowed to hold or drink alcohol during parole.

Dobson was convicted of second-degree murder in 2018, but was convicted of minor criminal negligent homicide in the death of Roland "Donnie" Dequina.

Dequina was stabbed and beaten near Baseline Road and 27th Way on July 25, 2017.

Police said Dobson attacked Dequina and another man while the three men were drinking there. A few hours after the attack, the cyclist found Dequina lying in a pool of blood in the same area, and he died about a week later.

According to the Colorado Department of Corrections, Dobson was sentenced to five years in prison and was released on parole in July after serving less than three years.
